Review of Hunter 82041 Energy Star Bathroom Fan with Light, White

the fan has very little noise, bright light, uses a special gu 24 base bulbs, i found a company on the web i bought four bulbs for 5 bucks each, hunter wanted 15 plus shipping, measure your bulbs, its around 2 1/2 inches i think, and look on the web for a gu 24 bulb thats around that size and order them cheaper from someone else, there was three companys that had the size bulb this hunter fan takes, it works great, sucks alot of air and its bright, cons is the special size bulb, but a search on the web will fix that problem, plus they are the long life bulbs, so 4 extra should last me a long time..be careful not to order a bulb longer then the size you get for there is little room between the bulb and the cover, very little.....

Review of Hunter Fan Saturn 90052 Bathroom Fan, Decorative Satin White Rings with Frosted Glass

I spent quite a bit of time pricing, comparing, and researching various models of light/fan assemblies to install in the small bathroom off my master bedroom. After visiting all the local home improvement stores, I expanded my search online. I slowly narrowed down my options and this Hunter fan bubbled to the surface.

A few things to keep in mind as you're doing your due diligence to locate the fan that works for you.

First, you should be aware that most ventilation fans are made of white plastic. If your bathroom has a window that doesn't block the sun's UV, over time this nice white plastic will yellow. I didn't want that, so this narrowed my options down to units that have no visible plastic. This GREATLY reduced my options.

Second, carefully consider whether you want a fan that is silent or near silent. I visited my local home stores and demoed these silent fans and decided I didn't want them. If they're totally silent, I can't tell if they're even on! I didn't like this. I wanted a little rushing sound just to let me know that it is, in fact, operating.

Ventilation fan noise is rated in "sones." Three or four sones is about as loud as a quiet conversation. Six sones is very loud. Any fan with a sone rating under 1 is almost totally silent. This Hunter fan is rated at 2.5 sones, which I found to be ideal. Since the fan is off the bedroom, it's loud enough to remind me it's operating, block out any quiet sounds I don't want anyone in the bedroom to hear, yet it is quiet enough not to bother whoever is trying to sleep in the bedroom.

The fan is rated at 80 CFM, which is just right for my bathroom (I calculated it needs a minimum 30 CFM fan). If you have a small bathroom, I'd suggest a fan two to three times the minimum CFM rating for your room. The higher the CFM, the greater the breeze you will feel through the room. When you're taking a shower, too much breeze can feel uncomfortable. It might be tempting to go overboard with the CFM rating, but if you're like me and enjoy a comfortable and relaxing shower, I'd suggest you get only what you need.

I found installation to be a breeze! Aside from the usual miserable attic installation issues, installing this fan was painless. The assembly is light and the fan housing compact (only 6-1/2" high). After the housing is installed in the attic, the wiring, fan, and light are installed below, in the bathroom.

The final installation is outstanding! No plastic visible anyplace. The marbled and frosted glass is very attractive and the hush of the fan is exactly what I was looking for.

I'd recommend this fan for those who, like me, are looking for an easy fan to install that is both attractive and functional. The Hunter series of ventilation units meets these expectations at a reasonable price.

Review of Hunter 83001 Riazzi Bathroom Fan with Light and Nightlight, Brushed Nickel

I was searching for an attractive replacement for my previous bathroom light/fan combo that had a decidedly utilitarian look.I found that Hunter makes the best selection of decorative light/fan units, and this one has the most powerful fan of all the ones they offer.I was concerned that the fan might be too loud, but I got this one anyway because I needed a fan that would really move air well since we were having trouble with condensation and mildew in the bathroom.I was pleased to find that noise is not a problem at all.The fan is actually quieter than my old fan, and it is much more powerful. When I am in the bathroom I can hear it running, but it is not loud enough to be bothersome.Outside in the hallway, I don't notice the sound. It does its job of drying out the bathroom after a shower very well.

I have two relatively minor points of criticism.(1) When the light is on, you can clearly see the shadows of brackets and other internal parts of the fan through the glass band that runs along the side of the unit. This is not aesthetically pleasing.Perhaps if the side glass was thicker, the shadows would have a fuzzier, more diffuse appearance and would be less noticeable.(2) We were not able to use the nightlight function because we only have two switches on the wall and we didn't want to run new wiring in the bathroom.Rarely do I see a bathroom with three wall switches, so I suspect others may find this to be a problem as well.We could have chosen to wire the nightlight so that it would come on with either the fan or the main light, but it was hard to see what the benefit of that would be.A nice addition would be an electronic eye that turns the nightlight on when the room is dark.

Review of Hunter 82032 Energy Star 110 CFM Bathroom Fan, White

We just bought a twenty year old house and its most pressing need was the master bath fan. All three bathrooms have the same old model in them, a very loud and the most basic (and cheap!) fan you could pick up at any home improvement store for twenty or so bucks. Well, the master bath one was on its last legs...and sounded like a jet engine when running, if it even ran when you flicked the switch. It would let the entire house know that the room was in use.
This fan by Hunter exceeded expectations. It is so quiet that I originally thought it wasn't even working after installing and turning it on. I had to get nearer to hear it, and then even tested it with some paper towels (held up to the grill). In fact, the fan is so quiet that it will not "hide unpleasant noises" from the bathroom anymore, so keep that in mind. Trying not to be redundant but this is the quietest bath fan I have ever heard, yet it is strong enough that we finally don't have a steamed window and mirror after using the shower.
Two other points to note are that the grill cover is almost 2 inches longer on all sides than the unit, so it will cover up any mistakes or possible issues nicely. Be aware though that this unit was about 4 inches "taller" (height above the ceiling) than the cheap-o model it replaced.
As one other reviewer mentioned, this model can be installed without access from above, although it may not be as secure.
I highly recommend this bath fan, even for the price.

Review of Hunter 82042 Energy Star Bathroom Fan with Light, White

This fan is very quiet, but the description is bad, design is fair, and looks are fair.

- There is no way to turn off the night light. I assumed it would turn off when it was light in the room, but it does not. You can get a $2 night light that turns on/off with a light sensor, so why can't they put such a sensor on a $150 fan? I replaced the 4w incandescent night light with an LED since you can't turn it off and I don't want to have to replace the thing every month.

- The housing is not designed for installation into an existing hole. The hole needs to be much bigger than the housing due to the duct attachment point and very deep housing. I had to remove the duct and re-install with much difficulty once the housing was in place in the ceiling. The housing is 8" deep, making it a tight or even impossible fit in any place except a top floor bath.

- The grille is approximately 12x13 at the largest point, and the grille is curved, so it is about 10x11 at the corners. The 14.75" x 14.75" shown in the manufacturer's description might be including the box it came in. I don't know where they got that measurement.

- The light bulbs are low energy CFL with a two-prong conductor that I have never seen before. I checked my local big box store and could not find a replacement bulb. I hope the bulbs last a long time. What's wrong with a normal light bulb fixture?

- The design is ugly, kind of like a bulging belly sticking to your ceiling.

I specifically selected this model based on the advertised grille dimensions, hoping to cover up the hole from the old fan. Had I been able to get my hands on the thing in a store, I would never have purchased it. There was no store within 100 miles that had this fan, so I purchased based on the description. Amazon/manufacturer need to accurately describe the items they sell.

This is a disappointing purchase, especially at this price, but I decided to go ahead with the install since I have to assume that the other descriptions will be just as inaccurate and our old fan was already pulled. 2 stars only because it is very quiet.

Review of Hunter 83003 Aventine Bathroom Fan with Light and Nightlight, Aged Bronze

I really do like this bathroom fan/light. It's pretty quiet compared to our old fan. We installed it where the fan comes on when the light is on. This way with existing wiring, we can use the night light, which I felt was too bright for a night light with a 25w bulb, so we added a dimmer for that, which works great. It was easy to install by dropping it through the ceiling, through the attic. It has brackets that can be extended to a further board. If we used this in a downstairs bathroom, a larger hole would have to be cut and blocks of wood put in to mount to, then a re-patch job. Though this uses two 60 watt bulbs, don't expect a super bright room, because the tinted glass dome reduces some of the light. This was ok for us, because we have additional lights in the bathroom. We do not have it directly over our shower, but I can visually see the steam going towards the fan, where I didn't with our older fan. Looking at the light/ fan at first, you wonder how it would suck it up, but it does have power, yet a quiet whisper sound. Sometimes though, it's nice to have other noise in the bathroom when you do not want to 'hear' stuff. Guess a stereo could be added lol.
